Another band taking to the stage at the latest Deco Records gig at The Railway this friday are MIMR fave synth-pop/rock duo Edits. Having had them on the blog a few times now and seen them play their striking set, they look set mesmerise the audience with their burning, enchanting sound.
MIMR spoke to Liv and Chris about playing live and their current plans for the band.
MIMR: Great to have you back on the blog, tell us what you have been up to this year, what do you have coming up?
Edits: We released a new single ‘Burn’ back in June so lots of the start of this year was leading up to that. We’ve played a good share of gigs too, including Warrington Music Festival, Dead Dead Good Weekend and Salty Dog in Northwich but it’s really good to be back in Manchester. We’re currently in the process of writing and recording our next release so keep your eyes pealed!
MIMR: Will be great to see you play once again at Deco Records showcase gig next week. Has your preperation for gigs changed much over the years of playing live?
Edits: Not too much, we still practise before every gig like we did at the beginning, but most of our songs are second nature to us now so there’s definitely less faffing around than there used to be. Sometimes you can over practise too so we try and just go through things as a refresher.
MIMR: If you could choose one band to tour with, who would it be and why?
Edits: Probably Biffy Clyro, that’d be super fun! We met them once and they’re really nice guys.
MIMR: With festival season reaching it’s climax, which music festival would be a dream to play at?
Edits: Glastonbury for sure, we’ve never been but it seems to have the best vibe with all genres of music included.
MIMR: What’s been your most memorable gig you’ve played as a band?
Edits: We played at The Live Rooms in Chester as part of Chester Live supporting the Anchoress a couple of years ago and it will always stick with us. We got a great reaction, gained quite a few new fans and sold out of CDs. It was definitely a highlight!
MIMR: Thanks again for talking to MIMR, look forward to having a good catch up at Deco gig, how can people follow you on social media and listen to your music?
Edits: We’re on pretty much all social media – our handle is @editsband.
