One of the newest bands on the bill at this year’s Focus Wales are Indie-rock 5 piece Mountebank who tell us how thrilled they are to be involved in the festival. The wrexham based band are ready to rock their hometown in a few weeks time and we are equally thrilled to have them on the blog.
MIMR: Introducing Mountebank to the blog, how did the band come about and how best would you describe your sound?
Mountebank: Olie Jones – Vocals, Iwan (Doug) Douglas – lead guitar, Shaun Reeve – Rhythm guitar, George Mills – Bass, Alex “Fruit” Roberts – Drums
Mills and fruit were in a band in high school, and Reeve, Olie and Doug were also in a band, like 7 months ago Reeve rounded us all up and we started jamming. We’ve got a range of influences but we’re predominantly going for a bit of rock n roll like.
MIMR: You must be pretty pumped to be on the line-up for the upcoming Focus Wales Festival. What can we expect from your live show?
Mountebank: We’re buzzing for focus we’ve been eyeing it up since we started. It’s our local festival so we’re happy we’re involved. From our show you can expect a couple of bangers and a decent night.
MIMR: If there was a band that you would love to tour with in the future who would it be and why?
Mountebank: if Oasis were still about, it’d be them, for obvious reasons. But otherwise it would have to be either Jamie T or Arctic monkeys, they’re two of our biggest inspirations and ya know it’d be a bit mental back stage
MIMR: Back to your show at Focus Wales, where and when can people catch your set?
Mountebank:We’re on at the saith Seren, Friday night, 7PM. Bring ya mates.
MIMR: Thanks for chatting to us, see you at the festival. How can people follow you on social media?
Mountebank: Find us on Facebook, just give us a search. Our Instagram is @mountebank_uk and our Twitter is @Mountebankuk
