MIMR Band Chat: Delamere

All set for big things is something you can surely guarantee with Stoke’s Delamere who unleash their stunning debut album this week, it’s a bit special.

MIMR caught up with the band about the record and the joys of touring.

MIMR: How would you describe your 2016 as a band so far?
Delamere: I’d definitely say this has been the busiest half year for the band yet! We’ve crammed so much in and to be honest we haven’t even hit second gear yet. Lots of buzz building has been going on.

MIMR: Talk us through the debut album, how was it produced and what inspired you in the making of the record?

Delamere: All of our album tracks apart from “Woods” have been recorded and produced by our good friend Rich Turvey in Parr Street Studios Liverpool. A large amount of inspiration for this album came from our desire to capture the evolution of the band over the last 3 years we’ve been together. It feel great to have all the music we’ve spent time and effort creating, refining and performing live in one place on one record.
MIMR: Must be the best part of being in a band when you can express yourself and get your music out there, which gig you’ve played stands out as being the most memorable?
Delamere: International Music stands out as our most memorable gig,  it felt great being part of a showcase for up and coming bands that have a serious electronic vibe. It’s the first time the band have travelled abroad to perform.

MIMR: Looking forward to seeing you play in Manchester next month, going to a big night! What would you guys say are the essential items to have with you on tour?

Delamere: Wills iPad and his Spotify playlist
Airwaves chewing gum
Some retro old school gaming (golden axe, streets of rage etc..)
Easy peel oranges
Vocal zone(s)
Beef monster munch

Delamere: If you could only listen to 3 albums for the rest of your live which ones would they be and why?
Delamere: Queen – greatest hits 2 – essential pre gig vocal warm up
Local Natives -Gorilla manor – we are all really big local native fans
Justice – Cross – big electro vibes

MIMR: Thanks for being on MIMR, good luck with the album and the tour dates. Where can we get hold of the album?
Delamere: Physical Albums are available for purchase via our website delameremusic.com plus we’ll be selling them at all our gigs whilst touring, downloads will be available on iTunes, Spotify, Deezer.
We will also have the album in some small independent record stores too.
