False Advertising ‘Piece of My Mind’

After a week’s absence Playlist is back and what a way start this week’s feature with a brand new track from MIMR faves False Advertising. ‘Piece Of My Mind’ is the 1st glimpse of the grunge trio’s upcoming EP ‘Brainless’ out April 22nd and demostrates all the hard hitting qualities to ensure that the guys have a very successful 2016. Not resting on their laurels, Chris, Jen and Josh are building on the success of 2015 and their superb debut record, with the excellent use of piercing vocals and bruising melodies expertly done on this track. Jen snarls ‘l’ll let you have a piece of mind’ and its safe to say that False Advertising will be on many more people’s minds before this year is out.

Seazoo ‘Telephone Jones’

Another MIMR favourite is next on the Playlist as we welcome back Wrexham’s Indie-pop maestro’s Seazoo, with their new track ‘Telephone Jones’. Due for release on 22nd Feb this is the first look into what we can expect from their new EP and its another 100% success. Joyous and charming organs accompanied by infectious riffs make for another great slice of pop-filled merriment which MIMR thinks is their best effort yet. Following the successes of 2015 i can confidently predict that this year Seazoo will do no wrong, have a listen and be happy!

Affairs ‘Play’

One of the many highlights of 2015 was seeing the rise of many Manchester bands with Synth-pop band Affairs being one of the most impressive and guess what they’ve started 2016 on the front foot with this glowing new single ‘Play’ released Feb 5th. Produced by Ed Buller (Suede, Pulp) this track shimmers throughout with signature vocals, anthemic tones and epic harmonies which oozes class. Its a gem of a track and it places them amongst a host of bands MIMR will be following intently in 2016, it looks like they will be a lot to look forward to

Colour of Spring ‘Pillow’

A brand new band to the blog now, we welcome indie quartet Colour of Spring from Leeds with their new single ‘Pillow’ released 5th Feb. Upon hearing this for 1st time i was instantly hooked, melodic tinges and sharp, shoegaze edges which all seem to be created effortlessly and with real emotion too. This laid-back vibe achieved collectively by the foursome mesmerises and instantly reels you in. Catch them on tour this month with a Manchester date on the 20th, going to make sure i drop my plans for that one, you do the same!

Rina Mushonga ‘Bullet’
