MIMR Band Chat: The Jade Assembly

Another one of MIMR Sounds of 2016 acts are the fantastic The Jade Assembly and we welcome them on to Band Chat. The indie rockers from Bolton have made a name for themselves with their thrilling live shows and workmanlike attitude to their music

I spoke to John (lead singer/Guitar) about a exciting 2016 and playing for the ‘Jade Army’

MIMR: Great to have you on the blog, what musical influences do you draw upon on when writing your songs?

John: When writing our songs I draw from a lot of places life experiences and things that I see In day to day life – When I was growing up I was a massive Oasis fan so I was heavily influenced by them since then I have got into a lot of early bands The Beatles The Stones Led Zepplelin and David Bowie we were very sad to lose such an innovator last month

MIMR: 2016 looks like its going to be a busy year for the band, can you reveal what you guys have planned?

John: We have a lot of exciting things in the pipeline for 2016 a lot of which we have to keep very hush hush but we will be releasing 2 singles and our debut album later this year and we’ll be all over the uk playing lots of gigs to promote this

MIMR: What’s been your favourite venue you’ve played?

John: We have played a lot of great venues all over the UK but our favourite has been  being asked to play at the home of our beloved Bolton Wanderers on a number of occasions and even being asked to record the song that they come out to every week

MIMR: Very much looking forward to gig at Manchester Academy in a few weeks time, what’s the best thing about playing Live?

John: I think playing live is one of the best things about being in a band, getting to see all of our fans enjoying the music and singing the songs back to us is very humbling – our fans the ‘Jade-army’ are the best fans in the world

MIMR: Thanks for talking to MIMR, can’t wait to feature the Manchester academy gig on the blog, where can people find out the latest news about the band?
