With Focus Wales only a few weeks away MIMR will be interviewing some of the acts that will be gracing the many stages of the festival, with over 150 bands playing over the 4 days it would be of course impossible to cover every single one but these Band Chats will showcase some of the acts that MIMR recommend you check out
First up is the Superb John Mouse, Who’s 2014 record ‘The Death Of John MOuse’ was enjoyed by many including MIMR, heres John giving his views on the festival and how he overcame his pre-gig nerves
MIMR: Thanks for talking to us John, are you pleased with how the last record (The Death of John MOuse) was received? MIMR certainly enjoyed it very much
John: I am glad you enjoyed it that means a lot to me. Other bloggers, reviewers and dj’s seemed to like it to. So yes I am very pleased. I kind of hate reviews that are negative, we had one. It hurts. It hurts because you put so much time and effort into making something so bad reviews are like a sly bully gut punch. Especially when you can tell that they just really don’t get it. So I am going to take this opportunity to say the same back. AAAmusic your review was rubbish. There are some great bloggers and sites out there who take time to listen to the album get into it, listen to it, and review it with care and attention. Thank you.
MIMR: Is this your 1st Focus Wales festival?
John: It is as a musician. I have been as a punter and enjoyed watched Gareth Bonello play at a massive church. I am looking forward to it. It’s a great bill that we are playing on, and I probably won’t move from Central Station, which is a bit of a shame.
MIMR: Are they’re any other bands on at Focus Wales this year that you realy enjoy at the moment?
John: Right, time to look at the line up hang on… Baby Brave are just smashing, Climbing trees have great harmonies, Ellie Makes Music has something about her that I think may develop into something special, FOTL (yup), I’ve heard a lot about SeaZoo so want to see them, and I love my pal Sweet Baboo.
MIMR: Thanks again for taking the time for a few words, we look forward to your appearance at the festival, Do you still get nervous before a gig?
John: I used to have pre-gig poos. I don’t anymore. I tend to smash every gig these days, but that’s just down to being able to rely on my new awsome band. I can just fuck around. See you there. Make sure you say hi. Lots of love. JMo
